Hi-

I'm staying in Podgorica this Friday night, flying out on Sunday. I have no place to stay on Saturday night and wanted to get out of the city somewhere for the night. I've been to the coast, to Kotor and Budva, and would maybe like to go back to the coast but don't know if travel times eat up too much of my short stay.

Any advice for 1 night outside of Podgorica, need to be back at the airport on Sunday night. Is it possible to get to Herceg Novi without going down to Bar and up the coast? Cetinje for one night?

I would recommend Cetinje. It is a cute little town, and not too far away. Hopefully the museums are open for the season, maybe even the Njegos monument. If not, it is nice just to stroll around, look at the old embassy buildings, monastry and other nice thing, and to sit down at one of the cafe's and watch people go by. There are buses to Cetinje from the main bus station in Podgorica quite so often, but adviceable to be there before noon.

You don't need to go to Bar to get to Herceg Novi, you could go via Cetinje (and Budva or across the mountains) to Kotor, or you could go by train to Sutomore (almost Bar) or bus to Petrovac. But I am afraid you would loose too much time.

Correction: If you are going from Budva to Herceg Novi, it is faster to go via Tivat and the ferry Lepetani - Kamenac then via Kotor!
