| Brindisi | Ferry from Brindisi to Athens Posted: Fri May 13, 2005 01:30 PM UTC
Hi there :) Could you please give me some information about the overnight ferry from Brindisi to Athens? Has anyone tried it? How much does it cost? Is it comfortable? I would appreciate any tips you can give... Also, could you please tell me how far is Rome from Brindisi?
Thanks so much! Minai |

There are two solutions:
by car, the distance between Rome and Brindisi is about of 550 km (6/7 hours); by train about 6 hours (www.trenitalia.it is the italian railway official site). Sorry but i don't have informations about the ferries from Brindisi to Athens. Bye

I think you can go all the way to Patras (24 hours), but not Athens. The ferries are a bit old and slightly run-down but cheap and reasonably comfy. You must book in advance during the peak season, and be prepared for tall waves (frequent in the Mediterranean, even in the summer).
Enjoy, mac

Oh, and you can also fly to Brindisi from Rome (Alitalia has a couple of flights a day, taking about 50 minutes).
Cheers, mac
