Planning to travel to varanasi.Looking for a nice and inexpensive guesthouse,lodge or hotel. How about scindia guest house.Anyone stayed there? Any suggestion is welcome.

Hi!
Donno abt Scindia Guest House.Two good hotels I can recommend are Hotel Pradeep : which is close to the Rly station .Tariff is from Rs.700 to 900 Hotel Pallavi International : again close to the railway station and tariff is from Rs.750 to Rs.2250 /- Cheers, Geetanjali

If you want a cheap place then the ones near the old city on the banks of the Ganga river are the ones that give a nice view of the river as well as the sunrise!!! I stayed at the Hotel Sonmony at Harishchandra Ghat where there are bodies being cremated all the time but the place offered a nice view of the sunrise from the top of the hotel as well as from the room's balcony. The prices were cheap too (Rs250 for a double room facing the river) and the facilities were also not too bad with some good food as well in the hotel's restaurant on the rooftop.
