Posted: Mon May 9, 2005 06:04 PM UTC
Hi!
I'm looking for a nice hotel or a apartment at the beach to rent (for 2 persons) near the Haunama Bay.
Date: 28th of August till 11th of September 2005.

Is it far from Honolulu?

Do you maybe know other nices places with nice beaches to stay on Oahu?

THanks a lot and regards from Switzerland!

Hanauma Bay area is about 10-12 miles from Honolulu (Waikiki). There are nice beaches everywhere on Oahu. It depends on what you are looking for in other activities such as dining, nightlife, sightseeing, shopping, and type of beach activity you desire. Hanauma Bay is a pay to go beach. I prefer for beach activity the North Shore or Windward Side. In Kailua, Windward Side, there is a feeling of a regular town with normal activities, shopping, dining, and a great white powder beach. Wiamea Beach, North Shore is the get away from the mass tourists and enjoy the sand and sea. Of Course, Waikiki, is the playground, and most popular tourist beach. Everything is in Waikiki, except maybe peace and quiet. My choice would be Kailua, next door to LaniKai (best swimming beach) for price, location, activities, and within 30 minutes to Waikiki. The apartment is the Palm Villa. See website: www.kailuabeach.com
Things closer to Waikiki, such as the area near Hanauma Bay that you requested would be in the Hawaii Kai area. One rental is Beachside Cottage at website :www.vacationhomes.com16668 Aloha oe.
