Long Beach Taxis from Long Beach Cruise PIer to LAX
Posted: Wed May 4, 2005 03:03 AM UTC
Hi

We are a group of 8: 4 adults & 4 kids coming off a cruise on May 16.

Are the taxis at the pier plentiful?

How long a ride would it be to LAX?

Would it be cheaper to go in 2 taxis or better to pre-book SuperShuttle?

Thanks for your help.

There are plenty of taxis lined up outside the baggage area. It is about a 45 minute drive to get from the dock to LAX. It might take you a few extra minutes to get a taxi, as any cruise passengers besides yourselves taking a taxi, who got off before you, will be lined up to get the taxis. I think that prebooking SuperShuttle would give you piece of mind and you will know the exact cost before hand. Have a lovely cruise.

That's true. It's cheaper to take public tranportation. Take that purple bus (along Pine) to Mall Transit Station (train platform) (free!!). take blue line to Wilmington/Imperial (Rosa) Station. walk up stair. Hop on the green line toward Redondo. Get of Aviation/LAX Station. Hop on the white bus with yellow and blue stripes (LAX Shuttle). the blue line and green line is $1.25 per person. Whether taxi or SuperShuttle is better; that's a tough call since there are 8 of you.
