Two arms, two legs, one head... the usual. Can you be a little more precise?

Don't forget that there are 2 equally famous Long Beach on opposite coasts: Long Beach (NY) and Long Beach (CA). And if we want to be generous, we can also include the other lesser known but just as beautiful Long Beach (MS), Long Beach (Peninsula, WA, the longest natural beach in the US), and Long Beach (Island, NJ).

I also hear from reliable sources that they put their pants on one leg at a time. Once you get past that, all bets are off!

...Well she did post this in the California Long Beach forum. Could be that's the one she is asking about then, LOL.
Are people very long at Long Beach?? Or maybe everything takes a Long time at Long Beach. Why was it so named?? We have a beach in my country named 90mile Beach, but it isn't really 90 miles long, but almost!! Is Long Beach, Calif very long??
I was there once, a long time ago (1973) but didn't seem interested in these facts back then, LOL.

I didn't even know the post was in California forum, I read it in World forum.

I believe Long Beach was named because at the time (1888), the beachfront community was hoping for a revived interest in their old and failing Willmore City, thus born the grand name (our grandparents had old postcards with the old name on them.)

I have no idea what is the actually length of Long Beach, since its beach is only one small part of the continuous 840 miles of California beaches. The name of the beach changes from one city to another, and even in the same city, there are many different names for the same beach, based on the names of the neighbourhoods.

Long Beach is so named because of the length of the gun barrels the gangsters in the area carry!

Sorry, no offense to anyone who lives there but Long Beach really isn't very nice.

"...but Long Beach really isn't very nice."

Check out California Heights and the nieghborhood to the west. You'll be impressed.

yeah, I know there are some nice areas to be had. Just in general it is iffy and the LA basin is too polluted for my taste.

I think we would both agree that it isn't a tourist destination, other than the Queen Mary and Aquarium of course.
