Hi, I'm going to be traveling from Bern to Rubigen to see a concert at Mühle Hunziken, and I don't know if the show will end by 23:58 in time to catch the last train back to Bern. Does any one know if there are other transportation options back to Bern if I miss the train (how much would a taxi cost)? Are there hotels in Rubigen or nearby (I have looked online extensively and not found a hotel in Rubigen.) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hmm.. there are no regular night trains/busses at the weekends.
About Taxis in Switzerland... Very Very expensive. Its a ride of 13 minutes / 11km. I pay for almost the same ride (12,5km 14 min) in Zürich at midnight maximum CHF 50.- for a taxi. If you share the taxi with other people (if you find some) it would be cheap. you can ask for a taxi for up to seven people (in zurich possible) but sometime you have to wait a lot.

I consider Muehle Hunziken a must! You gonna love it.
The way back is no problem at all. The owner of Muehle Hunziken asks at the
end of every concert if someone needs a lift.
You will certainly find somebody take you along back to Bern City.

hmmm mühle hunziken is quite far from any train station at least 15 min. during daytime there is a bus wich joins the places belp and münsingen and passes the mühle hunziken. the bus stop is called "rubigen, hunzikenbrügg". if you type the name just like that in the timetable site www.sbb.ch you will find the connections to/from there.
the problem is that the last bus leaves there sometime after 7pm :-(

if you go to the concert on a friday or saturday evening you're lucky, berne's night-bus the "moonliner" passes mühle hunziken on its way from bern to thun and back. see www.moonliner.ch for timetables.

a taxi to bern will cost you about chf 50.--

there are 2 moonliners back to bernon friday and saturday nights. they leave the mühle hunziken in rubigen at 00:40 and 03:00. it costs CHF 10
