I will be traveling this Monday from the border of China to Wu Dang Mtn. I was curious to know if I could take a direct root from the border to Wuhan by train. Does any know if their are ATM's in the city of Wuhan?

Firstly, the first week of May is a national feast in China. Every resort Would be crowded, include Wu Dang. And the traffic, like plane, train, bus would be crowded too. I don not think it is a good time to visit Wu Dang.
Secondly, there are no train to Wu Dang from HongKong directly. You can get Guangzhou, and then take train to Wu Dang(Maybe you should buy ticket to ShiYan, Hubei province, the nearest city to Wu Dang.). There are many Automatic Teller Machines in every city. You do not need to warry about it.

Yes, there're ATMs in Wuhan, of course.
Certainly not in time to answer your question, but here're the schedules in case anyone else needs the same information in the future. Shenzhen -- Wuchang: T96 (1748--0612) 12h24min T176 (1948--0838) 12h50min Shenzhen West -- Wuchang: K556 (1450--0917) 18h27min Shenzhen -- Hankou: T68 (1710--0600) 12h50min All these trains originate at Shenzhen/Shenzhen West train station.
