Odense Exchange Student from America
Posted: Mon April 25, 2005 09:24 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I'm a high school student from Wisconsin, USA and I will be staying a full year in Odense on foreign exchange. I haven't heard from my host family yet but I will soon. What are some things I should know about Odense? Will I have a good time there? Are there a lot of activities in the city? Anything you think that would be beneficial to me, let me know. Thank you so much:).

odense is right in the middle of denmark, so it makes a good base for exploring denmark.
it's also a student place, so it's quite lively during the weekends with lot's of student nightlife.

2005 is the 200th aniversary of fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen, who was born in odense.
that means that lot's of celebrations take place this year.

my brother studied several years in odense and was very happy aout it, so i think you should end up having a good time.

i hope you have a great time.

Guys, remember Americans under 21 are not allowed to drink, so that wipes out about 3/4 of the tips you wrote. ;-)

Odense is very centrally located for getting on the train to Copenhagen, the epicenter of Scandinavia, if not the world.

Good job we have plenty of those in Malmö then! :))) Hubby used to work as a traffic planner and let's say he's had more rewarding jobs.

But now we've hijacked the Odense thread completely...
