Guilin Travel Forum

My wife and I would like to go to Guilin in June. However, we don't know how to get there from Xi'an by train. Please advise us. Hopefully, someone can point us to the right direction to stay, the cheap hostel and to do.

I'm sure there is a direct train from Xi'an to Guilin, but you may not be able to get tickets in the sleeper cars. It's so much easier to fly. For much more information, go to the forum at www.ctrip.com. (It's in Chinese.)

Route is a little out of the way. Go to Guilin first from Beijing, via train or flight. Then go to Xi'an later.
at guilin, head straight to Yangshou, plenty of small cheap hotels. Scenery is
best there, there's really nothing at Guilin city.

There is no direct train from Xi'an to Guilin, but you certainly don't need to return to Beijing first.
Simply go east by train to Zhengzhou and then south through Wuhan and Changsha to Guilin. There you go!

Hi You seem to know a bit about the trains.

Would you be able to give me instructions. As i am wanting to go to xian and then guilin and sort of understand what you were saying. If i don't know my way around will it be hard. Maybe you could give me information on the actual trains to take and times because as you can see i am very inexperienced
