St. John Best Place to Propose on St John

Hi All, I'll be visiting St. John late this fall and would love to hear of best places to propose marriage. We'll stay at the Westin but may rent a jeep based on feedback in this forum. Ideas? Thanks!

I can think of 100 great places to propose on St. John, guess it depends on a few things.
First, what type of things are you going to be doing while on St. John? Hiking, beaching it, snorkeling, scuba, sailing?
Second, do you want it to be in (semi) public or completely private?

A good sunset beach is Hawksnest or Truk (not a good bet for privacy). A beautiful beach with a chance of privacy is Rendevous, not far from Westin. A long beach with a 99% chance of complete privacy is Reef beach.
There is a fine resturant just above Cruz Bay that is renown for it's sunset views I will have look search for the name. We found an old mill ruin up on a hill in the west side of the island that has a gorgeous sunset vantage it was COMPLETELY private when we were there ;) (again, I will have to search the name and location).
If you really want to start your life together in an interesting manner ask her while at Woody's in Cruz Bay. I'm sure the crew there would be willing to help out and you will definately make the photo wall and website.

Just a start. give us some hints as to what would fit into your plans.

Oh yeah, where ever you pop the question,
Good Luck!

Hi, thanks for the suggestions. Good questions - I guess I was thinking of a semi-private or private beach at sunset. We'll be driving a jeep around the island from beach to beach, getting sun and a little snorkelling throughout the week. Will definitely check into some of those places you suggested (except for that bar in the Bay :)).

OK, finally got a chance to look up the resturant I mention above.

Asolare- Offers a fusion of Euro-Asian cuisine in spectacular surroundings.? Dinner nightly, reservations recommended. Northshore Road Cruz Bay, $20 and up (340) 779-4747

My favorite is still;
Woody's Seafood Saloon an American Seafood Grill- "The Caribbean's best happy hour". $10 - $15 (340)779-4625

hi there. just got back from st.john, st.thomas and barbados. (actually had my wedding in st.thomas!) my husband proposed on francis bay (same side of the island as trunk bay but total privacy) then we went to chateau bordeaux at the top of one of the islands overlooking bvi. stunning, romantic, what a wonderful place to get engaged. obviously we liked it so much we went back to get married. email me if you have any questions.

My son proposed to his future wife a couple years ago. He took her for an early morning walk and wanted to be there just after the sun came up. They parked & took the trail down to Salt Pond Bay. They walked across the beach there until they got to the trail on the left to Salt Pond (there's a sign pointing the way). They hiked on the trail to the left of the Salt Pond (kind of yucky looking but interesting) and went by the cliffs overlooking the crashing water. It's beautiful there.
