Queenstown Travel Forum

Hi All,

I'm so glad I discovered this forum! I already found plenty of useful advice in the earlier postings.

The two of us is planning to do a whole season (or maybe even 6 months) in Qeenstown from the beginning of July 2005. Can anyone give me advice about long term accomodation? Should we rent in the town or nearer the slopes? (We will probably buy a van so driving is not a problem.) How much can we expect to pay for a non-shared flat (studio or one-bedroom) and where should we be looking?
I assume it will be harder to find accomodation when we arrive so trying to sort it out beforehand. Any advice about this will be greatly appreciated!

Hey there, maybe check out www.realenz.co.nz and then search in rentals for queenstown. it can be hard to find something down there over ski season esp if you only arrive in july. in town is good place to be. only a short drive to slopes and in the place for all the apres ski action ;-)

Daniel, thanks very much for your posting and sorry about the late answer. We managed to find a room in Quail Rise which is gorgeous! Soon however we will all be kicked out of here so taking this opportunity to move to a bigger place such as Christchurch. I loved Queenstown, managed to do a bit of snowboarding, Aikido, etc. Great fun!
