Hi all,
Have tried for three weeks, through phone calls and faxes, to book a place in AP. I have been corresponding with the tourist office there, they are nice enough but made it clear I should book hotels directly. The problem is no hotel has answered any email or fax, and I have sent three faxes to each place, with zero response. I have them in perfect italian so I know it isn't a language problem, and the faxes are going through. Does anyone have a suggestion for a cool place to stay, in the city center. We are planning a two stay to see the Quintana jousting tournament in August. So far, we have tried to book the Cantina Dell'Arta and also the Hotel Piceno. Neither of which respond to any correspondence. HELP! Stacy Seattle |

Puo darsi che tuo italiano troppo buone, lol, provi in inglese ne sono siccuro che ti rispondono.
Maybe your italian is to good, try in solid english am sure they'll respond you.

I`m so sorry for the inconvenients you get trying to book a hotel room in my town. I really dont know what i can answer to you... technical problems (?)
I just know that Hotel Piceno is in the town center, nothing more. You`ll enjoy the Quintana and whole my little town, for sure! just wanna advise you to stay there also on the 5th of August, the day of the feast of the saint patron of Ascoli, Sant`Emidio. Hundred of people going to the Cathedral in the early morning, thousands of Ascolani (Ascoli and sorrounding area inhabitants) down in the streets in the night, a massive town bingo at midnight, and afterwards the most beautiful fireworks you can see in Italy, maybe in Europe. I have been out of my town in that day in the last years and I am looking forward to it this August. i`ll see you there! PS. Ascoli Piceno is in the Marche region (!) in Central Italy (East coast)
