I'm from Spain, I'm a college student and it seems i'll be living in Szczecin next year as I just got an Erasmus grant there. I don't care about the cold weather (because I already know I'm gonna freeze), I don't care about the school, as it seems the Politechnika Szczecinska is a very good school, I don't care about the language, because eventually you can learn anything (but chinese), the thing that really really scares me is that even though i've looked all over the internet i haven't found anybody that has been with an erasmus grant there, so the basic questions that i wanted answered, to kill the little fears inside of me to not go there, are still unanswered and these little fears are growing everyday, so please, if you have been there and specially if you are a college student there, get in touch with me. I'll really apreciate it

I have been to Szczecin and it is a great beautiful city! Dont afraid. You will find there students from another countries,... and polish people is very friendly.

You are lucky as Szczecin is only about one hour drive from Berlin! Before WWII, Szczecin (Sttetin at that time) was a weekend getaway for the Berliners. You can always spend your weekends in Berlin and get to know the Polish culture at the same time!

By the way, Poles are dying to learn Spanish so you will have lots of success there!

I dont know what are you scared about! Im an exchange student too , but in Sweden! And it is much colder country than Poland, specially the place you r going to study and live- Szczecin- is very mild. Its 45 minutes from Baltic sea coast and places like Miedzyzdroje or Pobierowo where all young people hang out during summer, and olso 1,5 from capital of Germany-Berlin!I have been living there for 20 years and I study at University of Szczecin. There are many foreign students , specially from Italy. Polish ppl are very friendly, kind and fun! There is nothing to worry about, just come and see! Politechika Szczecinska is located right in the heart of the city, where you will have lots of unforgettable moments! If you scared to come, dont do that! but I have never been scared of going abroad ! specially from an Erasmus programme! Good luck! Ewa

Thank you so much for your help to everybody, I'm not scared of going abroad, in fact I've already been abroad for a year in the US, however what I was scared of when I got the grant in Szczecin was that at the beginning it was really hard to find any information, but by now little by little with much research in the internet and with the help of some people that have been so nice to help me I finally got the information I needed. Thank you to everybody, I made up my mind and I'm really looking forward to it, I was never thinking of not going, however at the begining it was hard to do all the paperwork and stuff knowing nothing about the city, accomodation tips, etc...
