Hi,
I plan on being in Taormina from June 7-10, just realized that a film festival will be starting on June 11 set in the greek theater. Wanted to know if the Theater would still be open for the public especially on the days of June 8/9 or would they close it in preperation for the film festival? |

We visited Taormina last year not realising the film festival was on. The theatre is open albiet full of scaffolding and seats. It is still worth the visit. The film fest only takes over in the evening when they show a premiere on a big screen. Entry is free and you sit in the open air theatre with a bottle of local wine, local fresh food with the bay of Naxos in the background watching a world premiere on a big screen and you may catch sight of some stars. Last year we met Charles Dance and Judi Dench. Michael Douglas was also there.
We enjoyed it so much we are going again. This is totally against our principles of vsiting the same place twice!
