Any suggestions as to best way to go? Car necessary? Also, how long will it take for the trip, AND how long to go from Milan to Venice?

ciao diane
are you going to travel around in valle d'aosta and then to go to milan? cuz the best way it's by car, otherwise you can move in valle d'aosta by local bus and from aosta to milan by train (3 hours). from milan to venice absolutely by train (3 hours) cuz it's quite impossible to arrive to venice by car. if you come to milan let me know:) take care Ross

I would be going by car. Also, how long to Valle d'Aosta to Bolzano (Dolomites). Guess I won't go to Venice by car.
