Has anyone tried traveling from Dubrovnik to Cluj? What is the best way to get there if I'm travelling with my family and don't have a vehicle? How long will it take?

From Dubrovnik take a bus to Zagreb and from there you can go on by train via Belgrade:
Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor - Beograd - Train no. 06.05-12.14 R413 09.05-15.25 R741/419 Beograd - Timisoara Nord 16.00-21.36 R361 Timisoara Nord - Cluj Napoca - Train no. 21.54-04.47 A1943/1942 The connection is too tight as the R361 could have a delay due to customs. Better spend the night in Timisoara (www.hotelnord.ro, just across the street from the station and one of the best quasi-budget places to stay in the city), a beautiful Habsburg city and go relaxedly the following day: Timisoara Nord - Cluj Napoca - Train no. 05.54-10.57 IC233/232 06.45-12.47 A1835/1834 14.54-21.20 A1767/1766 Another option goes via Budapest instead of Belgrade: Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor - Budapest Keleti - Train no. 07.10-14.23 R205 15.22-20.58 EC53 Budapest Nyugati - Cluj Napoca - Train no.
