I disagree, the Grand Canyon is at an elevation of about 4500 Ft, it will not be 100 plus, it will be more like low 80's in the day and comfortable at night. Plus in early July it hasn't really heated up yet. If you go down into the canyon, yes it will be hot. Sedona won't be bad at all. But all in all you always have occaisional heatwaves and cooler spells. But it won't be like Phoenix which the other poster might be equating too, and it will be dry even if hot or warm.

It will be hotter than San Francisco. Sedona is at about 4000 feet while the south rim is at about 7000 feet. Early July usually is the hottest time of the year and the monsoon may or may not have begun by then. Afternoon temperatures probably will be in the range of 75-85F at the south rim and 90-105F in Sedona. If the monsoon has started it will be humid with scattered afternoon thunderstorms at the south rim and a chance of late afternoon thunderstorms in Sedona.
