Sequoia National Park Arriving from the east - via 395

I am planning a trip to Lone Pine, and would like to sojourn in Sequoia as well. What's the best way to get into the park from the east? Yahoo maps has me taking a 6 hour detour...south on 395, and then north on 99.

Hi!
There is not an East-entrance.
But you can also take from US395 > CA178 via Lake Isabella to Bakersfield > CA99
to Visalia and Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP. It's a shorter way.
Do also a look at www.randmcnally.com - www.mappoint.com - www.mapquest.com

Have a nice trip !
