Looking for a short-term apartment rental in Ipanema

Hi everyone,

I´m here in Rio now staying at a very nice hotel in front of Posta 9, The Sol Ipanema. I´ve been extremely happy with the property. A great value with an excellent location and one of the the best hotel breakfast I´ve ever had. Friendly staff, great service, etc. I´ll post my review when I return.

But I´d like to move to an apartment for the last week of my stay here in Rio, from Sunday the 10th thru the 17th. I was shown a place through a real estate agent -- they wanted $600 USD for 10 days for a one bedroom flat that was, quite honestly, rather seedy. I´m looking for something simple, don´t need the view. $60 USD per day seemed a little steep for the quality -- several blocks off the beach, dark and dingy. Is there anybody in the business or does anybody have contacts here that can help a fellow VTer out? I´d appreciate any assistance.

Check out a travel agency called Romanus Travel Services. It is gay friendly as well as having straight clients. He may be able to assist you. I have used him in booking hotels a few times and have been very happy.

I was able to find a great 2BR apartment from a web site. Most of the places are right around $50-$55 per night. Good luck.

Thanks for all the good advice. I ended up finding a clean safe place with an ocean view (bonus!) for $50 per night using www.blameitonrio4travel.com

Good friendly people and the flat was exactly what I was looking for.
