Hi,
Can anybody help, Me and my partner are planning our honeymoon in singapore, We plan to spend the first night in the Raffles hotel but would then like some cheapish but comfortable accomodation for the next 6 nights?
Any help would be apreciated on hotels, places to visit and general do's and dont's. We are interested in staying in Sentosa for part of the holiday too?

A night in Raffles is a great idea for the first night of your honeymoon! Regarding cheaper accommodation, you can find places around the Chinatown and Geylang areas. Geylang is a bit sleazy so might not be appropriate for a honeymoon couple. I was in Singapore recently and researched a number of cheaper hotels for friends of mine that were visiting. Details on my Singapore, Singapore page http://tmp.virtualtourist.com/m/34658/16d27f/3/#T. I'm afraid I can't help you regarding Sentosa.
Have a good look around the Singapore tips here on VT - there is a wealth of information!

well there are a few hotels on sentosa, not exactly cheap but moderate in comparison to The Raffles.

below are links to the hotels in sentosa.

hi there again barry,
just want to add the following hotel, starts at 40pounds a night. its not in sentosa though but a nice and quiet place to spend your honeymoon. but still close enough to a lot of places that you may want to visit (newton, orchard road, little india, botanical & zoological gardens, etc.). cheers.

hi there..
for the next 6 nites, i would recommend u to stay at shangri-la's rasa sentosa resort. it is located in sentosa, and over there, u can have great view of the south china sea. and basically, a place for u to relax and rejuvenate...suntanning and stuff! =)
the price ranges from SGD$198+++..and if u are staying there for 6 nites..i think they might give u a discount or something. that i gtt check first.

otherwise, u might wanna consider going to the beaufort. it is a higer end resort hotel as compared to rasa sentosa resort.

have a grt honeymoon...!
cheers!

Hi,
Congratulations!

If you like beaches,
I recommend you to visit Bintan Island (Indonesia). It takes only 45 minutes from Singapore and there are many good resorts. It is a good place to relax. :-)

Have a good trip!

Hi,

Great choice of the Raffles Hotel.

1 more thing to add on Bintan (a great suggestion): If you like resort-types, stay at "Mayang Sari Beach Resort". You get an individual rustic wooden chalet, with sun-deck. Not exactly new perhaps, but cosy. And the Asmara spa in the resort is fab.

have a great honeymoon. wish im going on one :)

the raffles? sweet stuff! but only for a night but never mind! the gallery evason is really really nice. it's a bit off the city area but close enough. prolly about 10mins by bus. im not too sure about rates but they shouldnt be more than 60 squid a nite for a decent room.
and yea as mention earlier, there are cheaper alternatives at chinatown on keong siak street. it's supposedly a really popular red light district in da past but very subtly shown now. can prolly save some money for shopping as well...hehe. there this new one called hotel 1929 its got a wicked interior planning and really hip furniture. http://www.hotels-singapore.com/info/hotel1929/
