| Ko Phi Phi Le | Is it possible to stay on ko phi phi ? Posted: Fri April 8, 2005 03:13 AM UTC
hello , I have never been to Thailand, so please bear with me!
I would be very grateful if anyone can tell me if it is possible to get accomadation on ko phi phi. I am looking for resonable accomadation, something like a guest house, or hostel or cheap hotel. I think the pictures of this place are beautiful, but I understand things have changed with the distruction of the tsumnami. Also i would like to ask how far is james bond island? and ko pannyi? Is it possible to visit if i am based in phi phi? Thankyou kehkeh. |

I haven't been there since the tsunami hit, but there are definitely places to stay on the island. Mostly small inn-like places. Will be interested to see what answers you get from folks that have been there post tsunami. I suspect they would rebuild fairly fast.

Was on Phuket in late February / early March. I wasnīt on Ko Phi Phi this time, but in Paton, which has been hit maybe hardest (next to Phi Phi and Khao Lak) in Thailand. They managed to rebuild and renovate so fast, that even then already half the shops and hotels at the coast were open again. I heard and have seen on TV there, that the same is so for Ko Phi Phi. They are operating again and waiting urgently for tourists. I think you will never again see less people in that small paradise than now (and that is good). So I would advise you to go.
I visited James Bond Island from Phuket, and my guess is that it is about the same distance away from Phuket as from Ko Phi Phi. I donīt know if they make direct tours from Phi Phi but it will most probably be so, and if not, you can still do it via Phuket, no problem. For any tips about Phuket (and two about Ko Phi Phi, have a look at my pages: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/72173/160bcd/ Thailand is a wonderful destination and a must go! You will enjoy it! There are 4 hotels operating on Phi Phi according to the site run by the Phuket Gazzette. Go to http://www.phuket.com/hotel-status.htm?ref=2005490857 for more info.
