Arnhem Help! Can anybody tell me how to go from Arnhem to Frankfurt by bus?
Posted: Thu April 7, 2005 10:05 PM UTC
I am going to go Frankfurt for my placement work next week.
As you know, the ICE price is too high if I just buy one way ticket.
Does anybody know how to take bus to Frankfurt?

Thanks!

Well, I hope there are people smarter than I, because I can't find a bus ride.

Is ICE with 79 euro (oneway trip) really too expensive? The total trip time is less than 3 hours.

You don't need to take ICE all the way. If you take this itinerary below by train, you only need to take ICE from Köln (Cologne).
It involves 4 stopovers and takes just over 4 hours of travel.

With ICE:

With the stopovers:

See http://www.eurolines.nl

There's a direct bus connection (183) for Euro 44.00

Hi,

If you travel in the weekend you can also try the "Schoenes Wochenende Ticket", which allows you to travel any distance in Germany (even with more than one person) for 35 EUR. You will have to travel by local trains only though, so no ICE, IC or EC. More details on www.bahn.de.

Problem is to get to the first stop in Germany, but you can either follow PJ's suggestion to take the ICE to the first stop (I think Wesel) or cross the border somewhere else (Venlo, Nijmegen to Kleve by bus, Doetinchem to Bocholt by bus, local train Enschede-Dortmund...).

Good luck!
P.

Indeed, the answer given is the only right one, though it will take a few hours more to travel to Frankfurt. Eurolines is in bustravel always the best option, they have very reasonable prices and a vast network of lines throughout the whole of Europe.

Greetings,

Paul

Indeed, I checked. Eurolines takes 6 hours, ICE takes less than 3. With Eurolines you're saving about 25 euro.
