Teotihuacán Travel Forum

My wife and I will be going to see Teotihuacan soon and I would really like to get there early in the morning. We'll be leaving from the North Bus Station in Mexico City and I know how to get there and everything, however, can anyone tell me what time does Teotihuacan begin its hours of operation? And also, what time does that first bus leave for Teotihuacan from the North Bus Station.
If anyone can answer those questions or at least point me in a direction to find the answers I'm looking for, that would be very helpful.

The ruins are open from 8am. The bus takes an hour, they leave every 15-20 minutes and I'm sure they would start in time for you to be there at opening time.

So my guess would be that if Teotihuacan opens at 8am, then the first bus would probably leave at 7am or something like that. So that is probably what I'll try. Thanks for your help.

My understanding is that the ruins are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Busses are said to leave Terminal Norte every 15 minutes +/-.

Due to the different answers as to when Teotihuacan opens, I decided to do a little more research online. I ended up answering my own question and just for the reocrd, this is what I found:

Teotihuacan is open from 7am to 6pm. I found this information on the Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia website: http://www.inah.gob.mx

The first bus to leave for Teotihuacan is at 6:20am and they leave every 10 minutes after that. I found this information on the Terminal Central del Norte (North Bus Station) website: http://www.centraldelnorte.com/tiendavirtualpaginf.cfm?tema_id=32

Great. It always pays to go to the source - guidebooks can be wrong, schedules change. Isn't amazing what you can get from the net?
Have a great time - and be prepared for some serious stair-climbing. Those pyramids are a challenge!
