Posted: Sun April 3, 2005 04:42 PM UTC
We are going to Costa Rica this July, I īd like to know ho to cross the border from Costa Rica and back again in Peņas Blancas, we are going in a hired car. Is It possible? How long would it take? is it very expensive? Can anybody tell me if it is better to do it by bus, or on foot, how much could be aTaxi to Rivas in Nicaragua? Thanks a lot.

You cannot take a rented car across the borders. You would be best to take a bus or taxi. You could get on the Tica Bus in Liberia or drive to the border, leave your car and then take a taxi to Riva after crossing. The crossing can take quite awhile.
