Hi!
I havent been to Trondhjem, but the nightlife in Stavanger is great. You have to visit a place called "Beverly" It's a very nice pub by the harbour. Have fun in Stavanger - I'm going there in july.. :o)

remeber that the 17th of may is our national day....any city is coing to be packed so if u are going out eating etc book a table, also on the 16th many of the youngest go put partying . on the 17th its depending on the city who has the best arrangement , i have been to 3 cities in norway for that day and haugesund and bergen has a better parades etc than for example oslo , havent beeen to stavanger or trondheim on those days .. have a super time in norway

Hi there!
I grew up in Stavanger and just returned from a visit last fall - it still rocks! I think it's tons of fun and all the bars, etc. are easily accessible, being concentrated at the downtown Brygge (harbor) area. Check out the links listed below where they have a variety of maps and info. I believe there are links to the entertainment calendar and guide, giving music and dance info as well as various bands and restaurant reviews. Pretty cool stuff. One place I remember is called Checkpoint Charlie, I believe. They had a "Thirst Day" special on Thursdays as I recall. Check the website below for more info. There's also a fun piano bar there where we had lotsa cocktails and enjoyed the British guy who took requests and could sing anything! By the way, alcohol is EXPENSIVE in Norway, so be prepared! I recommend drinking a bit at your hotel for a head start - buy liquor & wine at local vinmonopolet and beer at the local grocery store. Drink draft beer instead of bottled at bars. The reminder of May 17th is a good one - it is a crazy time and the Norwegians certainly use it as an excuse to PARTY!! ( as if we need one...) ;-) Enjoy the parade that day and be prepared for lots of crowds, especially in the harbor area. Feel free to contact me directly if I can be of more help! Ha det bra in Stavanger!
