Hotel Alpenrose was the last hotel along Alpsee Strasse in Hohenschwangau and it overlooked Alpsee. I have been trying to find a contact to make reservations but haven't been able to find the hotel anywhere. The last time I was in Hohenschwangau was in 1992. Can anyone tell me what happened to it? Thanks!

there is only a little Hotel called Alpenrose - and its not in Alpseestrasse.
But in Alpseestr. is an "Alpenstuben"

We were in Hohenschwangau in the summer of 2002 and the Alpen Rose was closed. There was still furniture visible through the door, but the grounds were a bit overgrown. It looked like it had been idle for quite a while.

I recently made reservations on line with one of the other hotels in the area. I asked about the Alpenrose. This was their Response:

"Hotel Alpensrose has been closed for many years - there were plans for rebuilding and re-opening it as a 5 star hotel - but, nothing happened so far, the hotel is still empty and closed."

I also wnated to stay there, but I guess we are out of luck.

When I visited Hohenschwangau in July 2006, the hotel Alpenrose was closed. It seemed as if it had been closed for quite a long time. It is a real shame, I am sure it was sooo beautiful!
