If we will toast to the beauty we will toast to Valjevo. If we will toast to the health we will toast to the clear waters of the river Graca. If we will toast to the ancient history we will toast in Petnici (research center and archeological site) near by the city of Valjevo. If we will toast to the heroes and the history (Serbian dukes and princes) there again Valjevo people are here. If we will toast to the guest, than we will toast to you, and that is why we are inviting you to toast together to Serbia in Valjevo, because people from Valjevo like the guests.
Duration: one day excursion 09-20.00h
Description:
From 09.00h till 11.00h
We will start with the toast in Belgrade in the caravan of busses where the guides in the national costumes will take care of welcomed guest in the spirit of the Serbian tradition. We will take a road of the valley of the river Kolubara all the way from the delta till the spring at the outskirt of the city of Valjevo. In good mood and the rest, the guides will inform us and show us beautiful nature and places. We will have a stop over, to have some rest, by visiting prehistoric Petnic Cave and research center called Petnica. Richer because of the fact we have visited our ancestors, we are back to the less beautiful reality, which we will face in Valjevo within 15 minutes.
From 11.00h till 13.00h
Valjevo is an important administrative and cultural centre today. With its 60.000 inhabitants we can count it in more devolved cities in Serbia. This city belongs to the group of the oldest cities (1393 year). When we reach Valjevo we will visit old part of the city called Tresnjar and the oldest building Muselinov konak, after that we will pay our respect to the significant names of the Serbian history and culture; we will visit their monuments, such as: Zivojin Msiic, Desanka Maksimovic (monument to the poetry). Running from the urban area we will sink into real natural beauty of the river Gradac, where we will visit famous monasteries Celija and Lelic.
From 13.00h till 15.00h
According to the historical data the monastery comes from medieval, and national saga says that this monastery is connected with the King Dragutin, who ruled over these areas from 1282 till 1316 year, as King of Srem. Few kilometers from the monastery Celije upward river Gradac, in the center of Lelic, there is a church that had been built in the year of 1929, and became a monastery in the year 1977. Remains (relics) of Nikolaj Velimirovic had been transferred from America in 1991. Within the monastery there is a museum, and near by there is a chapel. The monasteries Celije and Lelic are also from 18th century, the crib of spiritualism. Along the valley of the river Jablanica we will reach monastery Pustinje from 14th century, build during the dynasty Nemanjic (King Dragutin).

Schedule Posted: Sat March 19, 2005 05:44 AM UTC
From 15.00h till 18.00h
Now, it comes this part of the day that you will remember for long period of time. From civilized 14th century the road will take us to the village that has no road, no telephone, no TV, no internet, and still the village is nice, hospitable and on it's special way civilized. The Village Sitarice is located on the edges of the mountain Medvednik. Rich forests and orchards crossed by mountain springs fulfill the whole area. Here people preserve and take care of the tradition of old Serbian houses, folklores, customs so as traditional meals of the Serbian cuisine. There in the yard of an old authentic farmhouse the Serbian table full of domestic meals and drinks is waiting for us, along with welcome of the Serbian host and folklores that is characteristic for this part of Serbia.
After few hours spent in this ambient we are heading back to Belgrade, richer for new knowledge which we had from books and somebody else's stories. We are back to our regular urban rhythm with the wish that we live through such day one more time at least.
Price: 35 Euros per person (minimum 30 pax)
Program covers: all inclusive (transfer by comfortable busses, translator, tourist guide, drink, food and entertainment during the whole program)

Hi,
It's a good idea, but I can't go on 2nd, as I arrive only in the afternoon and can't come earlier then because of flight. I think the meeting as it is, is good, but we could also do this excursion maybe the day after, because I imagine some people can come to the evening meeting, but not for a whole day. I can come on 3rd April if it suits the others and you and if there is this trip on the Sunday. I'm open to new experiences :-) Like I said if this trip is only available on the Saturday and not the Sunday go without me (I have read somewhere you're only in Belgrade on the weekend).

Hi,
The meeting will go ahead on 2nd and I'm coming :-) Someone who I won't name sent me an email asking if I won't be coming on 2nd. I will. It was just that the day trip I couldn't do on 2nd, because I won't arrive to the afternoon and the day trip starts in the morning :-) I will be somewhere in the sky (hopefully!) in the morning :-) I tried to send you an email, but the service is unavailable :-)

RE: RE: One day trip Posted: Fri March 25, 2005 03:49 PM UTC
Trip is not possible and the minimum number for a trip is 30 people!!!!!! There are other trips, but I assume that 30 is the minimum for this company also. This would explain why the trips are less expensive.

Dear Sir,
Thank you on your interest to our agency programs. Program "Serbia Toast Tour" will be available from May 1st cause we're expecting good weather from this time what is one of the important things to have successful program and to @taste@ Serbia on right way.
As you know, minimum of pax per tour is 30. If you have interest to bring bigger group we can talk about discounts, but as first the first step of our cooperation will be to send us what exactly you want (how many people to bring , do you like just that program or...?)
Also will you be so kind and tell us are you working individual or you working in some travel agency and where you from. We need that information cause we want to check flights for you and to offer you more information about your visit to Serbia.
Sincerely yours,

RE: RE: One day trip Posted: Fri March 25, 2005 03:50 PM UTC
I think that we could do our own tour though, but maybe of Novi Sad or other town, but by public transport.
At the moment though only about 4 of us seem interested in a trip. There's no point discussing this if only about 4 are interested :-) I would be happy to go to Novi Sad in a group, but we can go by bus or train. I know trains are regular and fairly quick, so I'm sure it's the same for buses even though I don't know your system. It is pointless having endless discussions about this, so who wants to come on Sunday, 3rd April and to Novi Sad or where?

3 euros is not bad :-) Yes, we can discuss it on Saturday. I think that it's the easiest thing to do in the circumstances and Novi Sad seems an interesting town and easy to get to :-)

Wow! 10-20 minutes :-) That's not bad! :-) You do realise that there's no turning back now? :-) I can imagine us being like those cars you see in London with 6 people or more on the back seat :-) I'm sure that you know what I'm talking about, but I don't want to appear racist :-) Could I sit on the roof? :-)
