What is the quickest and cheapest route from Sorrento to the isle of Ischia and what are the best places to visit for a 1 day trip - that's not too expensive. Cheers |

I have only gone from Naples to Ischia and not from Sorrento so I can't answer that but I think Ischia as a day trip would be hard. Wandering around the island and then going back to your hotel and relaxing in the hot pool is the thing that makes Ischia special, without that added factor I don't know how I would just spend a day on Ischia.

Ferries run regularly from Sorrento to Ischia (stopping at Capri on the way). It can be done in a day. Main things to see on the island are the thermal spas and the castle in Ischia ponte but TBH it's a place to go for full on R&R. If I remember it should cost no more that 25 euros for the ferry..
