Provincia de Matanzas bring euros
Posted: Thu March 17, 2005 03:12 PM UTC
Just to avoid any complication, bring euros. U can get stuck at any time or any place just because in some place they haven´t received the order to exchange pounds...and this can be usual, not a joke. So better take euros, many places have where to exchange them.

Very easy. Bring your £ ster. Once you get off the plane, you will have an office in the airport where you will be able to change your £ into pesos convertibles at a good rate. Do not bring $US, you will be penalized by 10% when you change it. One peso convertible has always had the value of 1$US. As of april 9th, One peso convertible will have the value of $1.08US. Once you leave Cuba, you will be able to change your pesos convertibles (CUC) back to £ster but you will lose a little on the exchange. As for ATMs, they will work with transcard only. Maybe with major credit cards but I'm not so sure. Bring your credit cards if you can withdraw money on them. You can do this at most banks. Travelers checques? Forget about them, you'll be stucked with them.
