Hi people,

I am just interested in whether many of you have been here (Leamington Spa) or heard of Leamington? And generally what your opinions are of the place.

Thanks

Went there when I was younger - some years ago know. My father was born there so we were visiting various places of significance in his youth.

Fairly decent English town as I remember. Might have changed now?

Yeah its lovely,

I've lived here all my life, have been away many times but have always ended up back here. I know I have explored most of the little town, and its my home. Would just like to share what I know. I know a lot of little places to go and be alone and just wondered whether someone else might know of anywhere peaceful and quiet and picturesque, in Leamington that I have not yet come across.

American author Nathaniel Hawthorne used to live in Leamington Spa, and Louis Napoleon spent some of his exile there. They do a nice cream tea in the Pump Rooms (according to my Auntie Joan)and the adjacent free museum about Leamington's history as a salt water spa is excellent.
If people have the time it's worth a stop, and perhaps add it to a Srtatford and Warwick Castle itinerary.

I live about 8 miles from here. It is a beautiful town full of regeny style buildings which seem unique to England. Not too many attractions apart from the Pump Rooms and Jeffersom Gardens. The shopping is great but best shops are quite high budget. Best shopping areas are Park Street and Regent Street with more High Street names located on The Parade and in the Royal Priors shopping centre. Restaurants tend to be quite standard but couple of good Thai restaurants and Indians. Warwick tends to be more upmarket.
