Hi, I plan to have my honeymoon in Europe, by joining travel group. So far I have never travel to any country in Europe.

Can anybody give me some advice on when is the best time to visit countries in Europr please?

If possible, I would also hope that you guys can give me advice on Europe trip. I wish I could have a wonderful and memorable honeymoon trip.

Thanks.

Congratulations on the wedding! There are so many different things to see and do in all the European countries. So many factors must be considered when choosing the destinations and time of year. I would recommend avoiding the peak season (April - Sept.) if possible as there will be many crowds at the musuems and other attractions, etc. Although you also may prefer to travel when it's a bit warmer (ie: not winter - although there are some spectacular things to see and do in winter as well, ie: Christmas festivals in Vienna, Austria).

If you're interested in travelling in a tour group, the best thing to do would be to contact some tour groups for information on their tailored tours. You might consider checking out the following website for a few ideas of where to start.
http://www.travelonline.co.nz/contiki/conceptmain.htm

I like to travel to just a few destinations per vacation and concentrate on exploring in a smaller circumference... however, you may want to cover a lot of places in a short time (tours are good for this) and then you can decide to return to places you really liked and explore them and surrounding areas further! Hope this helps! ~ Happy travels!

Hi Jason. There are so many different countries in Europe, with very different climates, that it's difficult to answer. Also, what you prefer to see and do. Winter in places like Austria, Switzerland are great if you're into that. (Too cold for me!). The southern countries in summer are hot and sunny - Italy, Spain, Portugal etc. Others to the north are cooler but still warm in summer, like UK, France etc.
I suggest you check out VT members' pages to get some ideas from real travellers. Choose a few places and then check out the tour companies that go to them. You can choose just one country or a combination of countries.
The busiest month is August, so that would be one to avoid. Remember many European countries get 20million visitors or more a year, most in the summer, so it can be very crowded.

Big place, Europe, with a very wide range of climatic conditions. It might be easier to help you if you are more specific about which countries you are interested in.

Hello
I't vey diffricult, amost impossibe to answer the question. A ot depends on what kind of tip u 'd like to make. If u skiing-lover, it';s winter time. For sea&beach activities - summer time. Fom the point of view of sightseeing, Europe is 1 big memoabe place. Any county u visit U'll find penty of historical places. Any season of the year of course.
Could u specify a bit what u'd prefere to do

Congatuations & happy traves
I.

If it were me I would go to Venice for a honeymoon. I think that it is possibly the most romantic city in the world. Try it in May or September. I have several friends who taken in the Greek Islands for their honeymoons. Not a complaint from any of them. Also very romantic.

I think the best season is the summertime, cause usually you have dry weather then. I would prefer june, juli, in august thereīs vacation time in a lot of european countries and the streets are full of cars, filled up with tourist, especially in the mediterrenian area. But in June and Juli itīs not the high season and things sometimes are cheaper.
oh, congradulations from my side, too, enjoy your trip, have fun and may god send you fine weather.

Europe Revised: Best season to travel to Europe?
Posted: Mon March 10, 2003 10:32 AM UTC
Hi, quite busy lately, have no time to visit the website.

Appreciate all your kind replies. With your response, now I would like to rephrase my question.

Most of the Europe tour packages here cover countries like England, France, Holland, Austria and Belgium, and I will have my honeymoon in end-October and early-November. So, is it a good time to visit these countries at these time? Any comment on these countries? And any recommendation for other Europe countries?

Well, I need to know the weather there during that time, so that I can prepare the appropriate wear now. Tell you what, here in Malaysia we have hot weather throughout the whole year. So, I don't have any winter wear ready. :-)

The end of Oct. - early Nov. will be colder and there might be snow in Austria and Germany and the skies will be darker. You can still see a lot of 'inside' things during this time, but it's not necessarily the best time to see the natural beauty outside. But, it's all a matter of what your priorities are to see and experience. I would also suggest that you consider adding Italy to your list on the tour - it's one of my favourite European countries for too many reasons to list here. No matter what you choose, there will be interesting learnings and experiences in all the European countries, and given the time of year you go will determine some of the activities you partake in. I personally think that April would be one of the better times to tour Europe just because it's warmer, the sun is shining and it's more pleasant being outside. But seeing you don't have colder winters with snow.... that might create a unique experience for you in Europe. Whatever your pleasure! All the best with the wedding and have a fabulous honeymoon!

Yes, it'll be cool to cold at that time. Almost certainly wet too. Especially the more northerly countries, England, Holland, Austria, Belgium. The south of France will be a bit warmer, as would Southern Italy.
If the choice is limited with your local companies, you could book with someone like Insight or Trafalgar Tours, fly independently to one of their start points (say London or Rome for example) and take the tour from there. For that time of year and warmer weather, I'd certainly suggest the more southern areas.
