| Rennes | Rennes for 3-4 days for business - ideas of what to see or do? Posted: Wed March 2, 2005 10:11 PM UTC
Hi!
I will be in Rennes for 3-4 days for business next week. I would like some suggestions for what to see & do. Though I absolutely love Paris, I will be traveling alone and would prefer to see some of the places near Rennes. I prefer train travel. Any suggestions? |

Rennes is lovely, it es a wonderful ols town. I'd also suggest to visit Saint Malo and and Mont Saint Michel, both at the Channel (it's a bit more than 1hr by car).

Fully agree with the above.
You may also want to try the small town of Vitré: really mediaval. 1/2 hour by train from Rennes (44 km), station right in the center of the town. The castle and the old neighbourhood are right in front of the station. They also have some nice monolythic monuments in the neighbourhood. On the outskirts of town is the castle where Madame de Sévigné used to stay. They also have a nice swimming pool that stays open late. The Vitré tourist office at http://www.ot-vitre.fr/ has an English version available.
