RE: Have no idea where to stay....HELP Posted: Tue March 22, 2005 07:28 PM UTC
I've been to T&C 5 times. The last 3 times were spent at the now torn down Allegro Resort. The only all-inclusives remaining on Providenciales - Grace Bay - are Beaches and Club Med. I stayed at Beaches twice, the first time was was before the "French Village" portion of the hotel was open which I think now makes the resort too "mega" for my taste. It's also a resort best suited if you are traveling with children or teenagers. At the pools and on their beach you will find LOTS of kids! However, there's lots of water sports, activities, entertainment, for both adults and kids and I found the food to be pretty good. Liquor and drinks were good as well and the kids thought the swim-up bar for virgin smoothies was great. The beach in front of the resort is quite narrow but Grace Bay is absolutely the best beach and clear water I've ever seen in the Caribbean. The snorkeling is fabulous and Beaches has their own boat which takes you off shore for snorkeling and/or diving. All at no charge because of your up-front all inclusive payment. I've never been to Club Med and viewing it from the beach it looks like it needs a major facelift. It's on a stretch of wide beach though. I believe Coral Gardens on the other side of Beaches and down by the National Park snorkeling site offers an all-inclusive package...you might check it out...it's a much smaller place than Beaches and Club Med.
I normally like to go "all-inclusive" but I love T&C SO MUCH and the restaurants are so enjoyable that I would book any of these other great places within the same price range --Sibonne Hotel, Royal West Indies, Ocean Club West, or The Sands the next time, with or without kids. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!
