Guanajuato Travel Forum

My husband and I are thinking of retiring in Mexico and will be visiting Guanajuato, Queretaro and San Miguel in march. We are looking for an English speaking guide to show us some neighborhoods in those cities. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I am not sure that "hiring" a guide is the best thing to do in a country where people are friendly by nature and usually very pleased with showing you their city. My suggestion is that you sign up for a few friendship or exchange clubs online and find locals that way. You will make new friends and you will make sure they understand English before even going there. You can try hospitalityclub.org and post the same question there.

I'd highly recommend Helene Kahn. She's based (and lives in) San Miguel, but knows the other cities well. She has a website that you should be able to find by searching her name.
