Hi I'm looking for a simple fact answer about the Old City of Nicosia ... I would like to know about the diameter of the old city, and how many square km has the old city at all - within the walls,

"They were built by the Venetians in 1567 A. D. Half of the three mile long city walls, which encircle the historic city of Lefkosa, are in the Turkish sector. They were used in 1570 as a means of defense against the Turks.
These walls were built by the Venetians from the stones of old palaces of Lusignan Period (1191 - 1489)." Source: http://www.trncwashdc.org/n1.html#one So from this information, I am just extrapolating that the old city was approximately 9 square miles or 14 square kilometers? However, I am not sure whether this is the size of the Old city as we find it now or whether it has been added onto in the past 500-600 years? I hope this helps? Bill.
