Riga - St. Petersburg after 2200.. hopeless...?

I´m flying to Riga from Frankfurt Hahn on on Thursday night, and hoped to be in St. Petersburg by the morning... I see the train leaves at 2130 and the buses even earlier. Am I looking in the wrong place, or am I stuck in Riga till the morning bus? I land at 2130, and should be able to make it into town for 2215. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

It seems that you really are stuck..until next afternoon as first bus leaves 17:15 and train 19:30..but I'm sure you'll enjoy your short stay in Riga:)

I think I'm going to go via Tallinn - bus leaves Riga at midnight, gets to Tallinn at 5am, and I can then get the 7am bus to St. P's getting in at 3pm. Any better solutions would be dearly welcome.

I think that would be your only option if you dont want to spend the night in Riga

As it goes, I landed at 2200, and the left the airport at 2220 by bus - the flight was delayed, but they were very efficient with the bags and everything. Got bus to Tallinn, got out at the bus station and realised I was in Estonia at 4am, -15 degrees C - was a bit hairy for a bit, before I remembered 24 hour bar in the town centre, where I got a beer, espresso and a jacket potato, before trudging back to the bus station through the snow, to catch the bus to St. Pete's at 7am. Got here this afternoon, and the people I rushed through the cold and sleepless night to meet have missed their bus, and won't be arriving till the evening... ah, sweet irony... anyway, off to enjoy this wonderful city - I feel like I've come home...!
