Jerez de la Frontera Travelling to Jerez

Hi
I am thinking about going to Jerez this June for three nights and from what I can read you do not need a car and in fact it looks as if a car is more a liability. Any suggestions for travel from Benalmadena or Malaga. The train seems to take a long time due to having to change. What do you think is the best method? Thanks a lot

There are rgular buses from Malaga via Algeciras and/or Sevilla to Jerez de la Frontera. A cheap and comfortable way to travel, but expect about 4-6 hrs. Maybe you find a timetable on internet, but not really needed, unless your are on a stress trip.

Though getting around in Jerez can be a hassle with a car and isn't necessary within the city proper, it is helpful to have one to be able to explore some of the beach towns conveniently located close to Jerez such as Cadiz, Puerto, Rota, Sanlucar, etc. By car from Malaga going through the Sierra de Cadiz via Campillos you can be in Jerez inside of 4 hours, bus may be the next most convenient option but doesnt have as many departures as the train, I believe TRANSPORTES COMES is the company that runs between the two.

Hi,

My daughter studies in Malaga and we live in Jerez. The fastest way to get here is driving from Malaga to Los Barrios and taking the Los Barrios-Jerez freeway. This takes 2-2 1/2 hours. If you take the train you have to go from Malaga to Sevilla( change at Dos Hermanas)to Jerez. This takes 4 hours and cost 18-20 euros.
