Can anyone give me feedback on these two resorts? We will stay there for approximately 3 days. Thanks.

Hi!
My Fitzroy Island page is all about the resort, because the resort and the national park take up the whole island - so check it out - there are plenty of pics as well.

:)

I really hated Fitzroy island resort/backpackers. There was a deal running where you paid for one night and got two free but it wasn't worth it in my opinion and from the graffiti in the dorms it seems to be lots of peoples opinion.
The accomodation is very low rate with cramped rooms, prisoner of war style scratchy grey blankets, no entertainment facilities except $1 per game fussball, water pressure of a watering can in the scungy bathrooms, no cooking facilities (you have to purchase all your food in the restaurant and bistro or take along a gas cooker.) I don't want to be all down though, fun is what you make of it and we entertained ourselves adequately for two days with the short bushwalks (only three), wading in the water and paddling in the pool. The snorkelling isn't very good off the beach, the only way to get to the good spots is to pay to go on a guided kayak tour (around $90). The main problem is nothing to do in the evening although someone asked for them to leave the tv on in the kiosk area and you can also ask them to leave the pool queues out there.
Anyway hope this is of some use to you in making up your mind without coming across as a big whinge haha.
