| Københavns Amt | Copenhagen to Cologne Posted: Sun February 13, 2005 01:37 AM UTC
Does anyone know a way to travel from Copenhagen to Cologne in Germany other than using the Eurail system? I will be travelling in in April 05.

hey laura.
i'll be doing exactly that trip by the end of this month myself. there are no cheap direct flights, so i have bought an easyjet ticket from cologne to london and then another one from london to copenhagen. i have paid 62 euro's for both tickets, including tax. www.easyjet.com another option is eurolines. www.eurolines.com

I thought Danes were environmentalists Claus? ;))) What's wrong with Eurolines? Per person, coach travel is not much more polluting than the train...

@ Claus
... there is another option ... @ Claus and Chalotta ...and it is environmental friendly ....hitch hiking ... @ Claus and Chalotta and Laura ...Laura, I wouldn't recommend that for a single girl .... There used to be a good connection by the LowCost airline VBird. Unfortunately they went bankrupt last year. Hmmm, you could take VirginExpress (http://www.virgin-express.com/) to Brussels and then take the THALYS (http://www.thalys.com/) to Cologne. At least it is an option if you get the cheapies ... *winkygrin* HORSCHECK

Single girl? Why not? I know there are plenty of oddballs on those coaches but not that bad? My friends travelled alone to me when I lived in Brussels (as one of them even worked for Eurolines at the time). My German cousin takes them on her own back to Germany too sometimes even though she prefers train.

No, I wouldnt bother hitchhiking EVER ! Some of my favourite novels are about serial killers - hello! I was only interested in other airlines/coach/train....I have actually travelled on a Eurolines coach while I was last in Europe but I totally forgot the name of the company ( it was 4 years ago ), and it was fine but the heater was broken.....Thank you all for your info....! Yep Coach is looking good but will check airlines anyway ezejet maybe?

if you decide to fly, gertting a domestic flight to berlin and then changing to easyjet for copenhagen might be the cheapest option.
try these websites: www.easyjet.com www.germanwings.com

:))) Yes, I eat garlic almost every day in my husband's curries. That's probably why I'm not as badly hit as several of my colleagues.
