Coeliac Food and Restaurants in Rome Posted: Wed February 9, 2005 03:12 AM UTC
Hi, I have a friend who is travelling to Rome later this year. She is a Coeliac which means she can't eat gluten in any form. I've tried general searches, but can't seem to find any info, does anyone know if there are restaurants or shops for coeliacs in Rome? Any help would be much appreciated!

Hmm.. I don't know if this'll be much help.. But this is the website of the Italian Coeliac Association, they have a list of restaurants all over Italy, including some in Rome:
http://www.celiachia.it/ristoratori/ristoratori.asp?idregione=8
And these should be able to make a gluten meal, according to this website: http://www.bestinrome.com/restaurants/#celiacs

HI,
I use to go out with a friend who has the same problem, well I reccomend the Tulipano Nero in Trastevere (is in flettemette list) that has a very very good Pizza Gluten free! and it is in a nice spot and it is not very expensive.
Also i remember when cocking for her if you go to auchan they have a proper gluten free section with bread, pasta etc...
have a good time!!
