| Rangoon | Sedona Hotel Yangon Posted: Wed February 2, 2005 07:28 AM UTC
Hello everyone, I'm going to Myanmar for the first time and would appreciate any comments at all on this hotel. I just hope it's not too far from the shopping area..

Hello!
I & my husband will visit Myanmar, too :-) (in March 2005). This is our first visit to Myanmar. so I'm sorry I don't know about Sedona Hotel. But a travel agency in Japan says on their webpage that Sedona hotel is 15 minutes by car from the airport and the downtown. It is located along the street of a famous pagoda. By the way, when are you visiting Myanmar? We will in Bagan on March 19,20,21(till noon), and we will be in Yangon on March 21 (from afternoon till midnight) If you are also in Myanmar during that period, how about having a VT Meeting? (We and VT member Zin are planning to have one on March 21 in Yangon) Ayurin :-)

Hi again, bpacker :-)
Thanks for your reply. >I'll be down there prob on the 24 of Mar onwards, >wouldn't mind a meeting with other VTers as my trip >is free and easy! Oh, what a pity.... we will be in Yangon on March 21 Monday... we will be too early to meet you :-( Are you still in Singapore on March 21? Our plan is... ----------- March 19 Saturday : Osaka(Japan)--> Bangkok(transit)-->Yangon(transit)-->Bagan ----------- March 20 Sunday Sight-seeing in Bagan & Mt. Popa ----------- March 21 Monday Bagan-->Yangon (we will arrive at about 14:45) Sight-seeing and VT Meeting in Yangon ----------- March 22 Tuesday Yangon (3:00 midnight flight) -->Bangkok -->Osaka ----------- >Think i will stick with Sedona, what about you guys?? In Bagan, we are planning to stay at "Thande hotel in Old Bagan".It looks nice with their riverside cottages. In Yangon, we will not stay at a hotel. Our flight leaves at 3:00am, so we can't sleep that night... Have a good time and let's enjoy Myanmar trip! Ayurin :-)

Last week I had lunch at Sedona Hotel and i have always appreciated Sedona Hotel in Mandalay and this one was sedate and very service oriented, but you would not know you are in myanmar, it could have been anywhere. a nice international style hotel far away from everything, but could be downtown in fifteen minutes by taxi.
if this is your first trip, you are in for a treat. Myanmar is without doubt the nicest country in Asia and the people the most gentle and very helpful. if you neeed any help there or more info write directly to novembergirl on vt who lives in yangon. she was very helpful to me. enjoy Myanmar, the loveliest country in Asia.. Sedona is good place if u are looking for quiet, nice, wanna stay away from noise and so on.
But if u are normal traveller, who love to walk around and shop around the city area, then I would recommand to stay In Traders or Grand Plaza Park Royal. THose are located in city, everywhere is juz near by. need more info, pls let me know.

Ah, I am just tempted to stay at Sedona because I got a special price there. So since you say it's good, I'll book it. Thanks all for your help and advice. Will let you know once i confirm my trip to Yangon.
