Asmara Eritrea - Asmara arrival

Does anyone know the Ambassador hotel on Harnet Ave in Asmara?

Specific quesitons I have are:

How is the hotel?
How far is the Ambassador from the airport?
How much should a taxi cost to the hotel?
How does one change money upon arrival into Asmara?
Is there a change place at the airport?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Don't know that particular hotel, but I paid 100 Nakfas for a taxi at 2 am from city to airport.
It may be more expensive when coming in, note however that there is a very cheap bus during the day, too.
I'd say change a tiny amount (like 20 USD or so) at the airport, then change the rest in town on the blackmarket - people will approach you, and I bet the hotel will also do it.

Don't you have a guidebook, BTW???

Thanks.

And yes, I do have a guidebook, the same LP one that others have. I have read conflicting information, probably because things change.

That is why I was looking for first hand answers.
