Moorea Village Faimano or Fare Manuia?
Posted: Mon January 31, 2005 06:20 PM UTC
Hi, has anyone stayed at Village Faimano or Fare Manuia? We are trying to keep our expenses down and have a more 'authentic' experience on Moorea, but the less developed the place, the less information on the web it seems. Any suggestions on other (relatively) inexpensive stays welcome too!
Thanks,
Rob

Hello...I would recommend Fare No Tehau (House of Peace) in Haapiti (Waterfront). Contacts are Dave or Ida and they are incredible people sharing their home...punch it in in the search bar and good luck!

Hi, I've stayed at Fare Manuia (at PK 30 on Moorea), for a month last summer and am going again for two weeks this summer. It's on a lovely white beach facing northwest, with beautiful sunset views. The bungalow was airy and comfortable, with fully-equipped kitchen, separate bedroom and living area, and nice wide patio. Great accomodations for the money! The location is about 2 miles from a grocery store, so you might need a bike or rental car to get around, unless you like walking.

I am familiar with Faimano, though have not stayed there. It is very close to the Sheraton, within walking distance to Aito Restaurant as well, but also not convenient to grocery stories.

Of the two properties, I think Fare Manuia is the nicer property with a larger, airier, more authentic Tahitian bungalow, on a nicer beach. Hope this helps!
