The Mekong delta is in Vietnam; not near it. Don't know about the candy. There was nothing sweet about my trip to the delta. Nothing but memories which will haunt me until I die.

you MAY be able to buy them over the internet at www.cybercandy.com, I buy my Japanese watermelon sweets from there and they have a plethora of weird and wonderful treats from across the globe.

Since you live in NY, I would say head over to Chinatown. There are an abundant of Chinese/Asian supermarkets there. They sell Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Korean foods there. You're bound to find some of the coconut candy there. I know the Chinese make coconut candy and it tastes the same as the Vietnamese ones.
If you have any more trouble, why not go to a Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown and ask the folks there. They may be able to help you too, or sell the candy themselves! Good luck!
