October weather in Playa del Carmen?

I am planning to have my wedding in Playa del Carmen and it looks like October is the best month for us. I am just wondering what the weather will be like. Do I need to worry about hurricanes? Does it rain constantly at that time of year? Any information would be great. Thanks.

I was there last October and November, and we had some days with rain. Normally it was just a quick shower, but a few of the days it was raining for a couple of hours.

As for hurricanes we heard that they very seldom reach the coast, so I don't think you have to worry about that.

Oh, hurricanes reach the coast all right. And you MIGHT get a storm with three days of hard rain. Could happen. But it does not rain constantly and your chances are pretty good. Would be better later in season..but it's really just luck. No guarantees. Odds are in your favor.

Be careful! My husband & I went to Playa last October for our honeymoon and spent the entire time experiencing Hurricane Wilma. We were evacuated for three days, then stuck at a destroyed hotel for four more, trying to get home.

If we ever go back, it will be during non-hurricane months. Not worth the risk!!!
