| Greece | Athens- weather Posted: Wed January 19, 2005 01:02 AM UTC
We are coming to Greece around the 9th of April .I am wondering what the weather will be like then. I do not suppose people swim that early on..Do people wear shorts at that time of year?

April weather in Athens is usually between the low 50's and the high 60's, Fahrenheit scale. The swimming would be a bit too chilly for me then. There would be some cloud cover but it would be warm enough for shorts if the sun's out.

Thanks! We are now coming around the 17th so I guess it might be a little warmer...better than -18 which we are having now in Montreal! Canada

Considering that the temp in Greece is currently -12 deg C, I don't know that it will be that much warmer than Montreal.
This website might be enlightening: http://www.city-data.com/city/Greece-New-York.html

Why are you asking New Yorkers about Greece, when there is a Virtual Tourist Europe/Greece forum designed for that purpose?
The Europe/Greece forum even has sub- forums related to specific Greek cities and regions. Your request is sort of like a Pittsburger asking the Pennsylvania Forum about where to find the best Buffalo wings in Buffalo, rather than directing the question to the New York Forum! You get alot better results if you pick the right forum.

I fully agree Neolit.
Rosemary, if you will be in the southern part of Greece, better pack your shorts because you stand a good chance of needing them. You did not say what part of Greece you will be in and this is pretty important as I'm sure the weather in april is different in Texas than it is in Oregon. April is the month inbetween seasons in Greece. For the south of Greece, it will never be real cold in April but it can be wet. However, you will have quite some more sunny dry days than wed ones.
