Can anyone tell me if it is possible to go by bus to Herceg-Novi from Cavtat and can it be done as a day trip?
Thanks, Jane |

Hi Jane
I recommend you to visit the whole fjord of Boka Kotorska, there is bus tour from Dubrovnik to Herceg Novi-Perast-Kotor-Njegusi-Cetinje-Budva-Tivat and back to Dubrovnik. It starts early in the morning and back to Dubrovnik about 8 in the evening.

Thanks Boris! I was told that the tours that leave from Dubrovnik also pick up people in Cavtat so this might be offered as an excursion for us. I thought it would be best to try and get some info beforehand just in case we wanted to head to different places on our own.
Thanks again, Jane

Oh - one more question...Do you know if we need our passports when crossing the border?

When I did that tour in 1999 I was resident in Cavtat's hotel "Croatia", so you are right the bus from Dubrovnik will stop there to pick up the tourists from Cavtat.
By that time we needed pasport, after all you have to pass the border between two states. If something have changed, regarding passports, am sure your tour guide to Montenegro will inform you on time. What is the hotel in Cavtat you are going to stay. There are pictures of Cavtat's best hotels on my Dubrovnik page. Cheers, Boris
