| Isla de La Palma | Canary Islands - La Palma (the island, not any town) Posted: Fri January 14, 2005 11:22 PM UTC
Anyone been to Isla de la Palma, the most northwesterly of the Canary Islands ? If so, did you like it ? Are the people there friendly ? How green is it compared to the other Canary Islands ? Is there much to see there ?

I haven't been there yet, but I'm hoping to go later this year. A lot of my friends have been there though, and they all say it's great there. The island is one of the greenest of the canary islands, and the sceneries are supposed to be very beautiful.
It's not so many beaches there, and no big touristresorts like on the other islands. I think that if you have the chance to go there, you should absolutely do it... :)

Hi,
in my eyes this is the most beautiful one of all Canary Islands, not for nothing La Palma is called La Isla Bonita. It is very green, steep landscape and diversified, beaches are not that sandy like on other islands, but beautiful as well. Vulcanos and gigantic barrancos are the main attractions, moreover it is excellent for hiking or Mountain-biking. Hope this helps, M

Hi,
La Palma is one of the smaller canary Islands. There's no mass-tourism there. But very peacefull and quiet of a friendly, green island. An island of contrasts, mountains and beaches, volcanoes and forests. Summer and winter ideal for sun, walking and hiking holidays or just to really get away from it all. There are hotels on the coast and many self-catering cottages away from it all. It is a nice island to visit.
