Hi Pitea,
thanks for replying...I have been to www.soelden.com
and they do have lots of info..I have a few questions
can you only ski to the glaciers? Or take a bus? It
looks like they charge for the bus to the glacier....how
was the weather when you were there? I get the impression it is a little colder and not as sunny as other spots in Austria....Where do you stay? We are
staying in Hainbach which is above the town....but I think we are close enough to walk around and I think we can ski back to our Pension...Any other scoop on
the nightlife...any great places to go.....thank you for any info. Glenna

hi. you can ski from top to bottom, not only on the glacier. they have 147 km of ski slopes (very very nice, different levels of dificulty, long, many ski lifts). last year, I've been in soelden in January and the weather was good, except for a day or two when it was a little foggy (it snowed). if the weather is very bad, you can go to the freizeit arena during the day (pool, sauna, spa, etc.).
if you have a ski bus stop near the pension, it's ok. they have ski buses free of charge until 8 pm I believe. later you can get a taxi.
for us one day is like this - wake up in the morning, breakfast, ski from 9 to 5 with many breaks for jagger tea and gluch wine:)), apres ski bars from 5 to 7-8, dinner and after that if we are not so tired, going out. this winter I'm staying in Zwieselstein (4 km from soelden). the accommodation is cheaper and in the evening it's a lot quiet . have fun!
